Release Notes
Latest feature releases, updates and improvements made to the Metric app, available on iOS.
Version 6.0 - 1080p, App-wide upgrades
What's new π¨
FHD Video Resolution
βReady to see every detail of your lift? You can now record in sharp full high definition 1080p video. Processing takes a bit longer with 1080p, and video files will take up more storage space on your phone so if space is an issue or your training flow requires quick access to your phone and rest timers after each set then stick with the 720p recording option, accuracy is great with either option!
Lightning-Fast Workout Logging
βSay goodbye to loading delays and processing spinners that kill your workout momentum. Every set completion in the workout builder is now instant - this has solved some data syncing issues when editing workouts in your history too. There are new set controls too, swipe left to delete any set from a workout or swipe right on the next upcoming set for access to manual entry and video import options on velocity tracked exercises.
Set Magic Auto-Fill - Progressive Overload Made Simple
βPlanning to add reps across all your sets? Just update set one, and watch the magic happen - every following set automatically updates too. Whether you're jumping from 10 to 12 reps or adding weight across the entire workout, Metricβs intuitive auto-fill means making gains has never been this effortless.
In-line Exercise Timers
Each exercise now gets its own in-line rest timer alongside your master timer, ensuring you hit the optimal rest window for every movement.
Enhanced Profile Charts
βYour profile charts now overlay your 6-week average or last session profile alongside today's developing data, giving you instant context for every lift. Even better, your historical context line is shown immediately when you start training - so you can plan your working sets from your very first warm up set.
RPE Table Upgrades
βThe RPE/RIR table now displays your historical reference data as soon as you open your workout, letting you strategize your loads before completing any sets today. The table is now fully interactive, just tap on an RPE row or a rep count column to light up the values for easy data sorting.
Sample Training Templates
βNeed inspiration? Get started faster with four professionally designed templates covering strength, power, and hypertrophy training goals. Each template includes detailed program notes and can be used as-is, modified/duplicated to fit your needs, or simply serve as inspiration for your own routines. Find them in the programming library and start training immediately.
Improved Template and Exercise Management
βTake full control of your programming library with the ability to permanently delete programs and custom exercises. This keeps your Metric training environment organized and removes clutter, ensuring your active templates are ready when you need them. To delete a custom exercise just swipe left on that exercise any time you are in the exercise list. Programs can be deleted from the program options menu.
Zoom buttons
βFine-tune your video capture with dedicated zoom stepper buttons for easy framing. You can also use the pinch-to-zoom for incremental adjustments.
Training History Upgrade
βRetroactively enhance every set you've ever recorded with our new metric backfilling process. In seconds, your entire training history gets upgraded with eccentric power and time-to-peak velocity data.
And coaches? You can run this once for your entire organization, updating everyoneβs training history in one go!
